When the Attachment Nudge Feels Awkward
A missing client file can stop the whole reply. The client says they attached the quote, photo, spreadsheet, signed form, or reference document, but nothing is there. Now you need to ask again without sounding annoyed.
The attachment nudge is small, but the tone matters. If the message sounds too blunt, the client may feel blamed. If it is too vague, they may not know exactly what to resend.
Why Missing File Messages Repeat
Missing attachments happen for ordinary reasons. The file may not have uploaded. The client may have sent the email before the attachment finished. The wrong file may have been attached. Sometimes the file was mentioned but never added.
The problem repeats when the team sends unclear nudges like, “Please send it again.” That creates another back-and-forth because the client may not know which file is missing.
Start With a Neutral Line
Use wording that treats the missing file as a normal email issue, not a client mistake.
